Shared reading time with our children is a treasure for them, but also for us. Participatory reading not only creates and deepens our bonds and creativity, it also increases brain activity in areas linked to language, even at the earliest ages. But what is participatory reading? It is one in which we adults read by asking questions and questioning our children, in which we help them empathize with the characters and ask them for help to turn pages, look for a drawing or detail, etc.
